Visitors & Patients

Whether you're a patient at Sanford USD Medical Center or you're visiting a family member or friend, you probably have some general questions. Where do I check-in? What about parking? Is there somewhere nearby for my family to stay while I am a patient?

Registration & Information

You can call the Information Desk at 1-605-333-6471. For your convenience, the Information Desks are located at the hosptial main entrance, Surgical Tower entrance, Skywalk entrance and at the entrance of Medical Building 3. If you need assistance finding a department or patient room, please ask at one of the Information Desks or stop any Sanford Health employee. We will be glad to show you the way.

Admissions and Outpatient registration are conveniently located in the Locken Lobby, just inside our main entrance. To pre-register, please call 1-605-328-7226 or register online.

Patient Relations

The Patient Relations Department exists to make your visit to Sanford as positive as possible. The Director of Patient Relations will help patients, families or visitors with patient care or safety concerns, problems or complaints, explain hospital policies and procedures, listen to suggestions and can forward the issue to Sanford management. The Director of Patient Relations can be reached at 1-605-333-6546.

If your patient care and safety concerns have not been first addressed by Sanford management, you can contact the Joint Commissions Office of Quality Monitoring at 1-800-994-6610 or by email complaint@JCAHO.org.

Parking

Parking is free and convenient in the outdoor lots north and south of the hospital. In addition, there are parking ramps on the west and south sides of the hospital. FREE valet parking is available from 6:00 am - 8:30 pm Monday through Friday for those in need of assistance at the hospital main entrance. Outpatients are encouraged to use the valet service or designated outpatient parking in the ramps and lots.

FREE valet is also available at the Surgical Tower entrance from 5:30 am - 8:30 pm and at the MB3 entrance from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
